Happy New Year Slap

Millions have already seen the viral videos of Pope Francis and the over zealous lady who pulled his arm during the time the pope was greeting the crowds of people who have gathered in the Vatican on New Year's eve.

People have been split on who is at fault or who is to blame, and on condemning the pope or the lady or someone else.

Humankind have always needed to find fault and blame someone in everything and this viral incident is by no means an exemption.

Have you seen the entire video yet?

In case you haven't and want to see it or if you wish to rewatch it, here is it;

Pope Francis

As you can see the unknown lady was eagerly awaiting her turn to touch the arm of the pope when unfortunately at the last second the pope turns around. Realizing she was going to miss what could be a once in a lifetime opportunity, the lady reached out grabs the pope and holds on to his arm. She pulls him to her and was actually saying something to him. What was being said, we do not know. But we all saw the reaction from the pope.

So now you too can make your own judgments. But personally, I wouldn't put any blame on anyone. Although I think all of the people involved should be called out, particularly the security.

It's just that the pope being the pope will get much of the heat over this. And I would not disagree. He did apologized and that was the right thing to do. I don't recall Jesus was recorded to have done anything like this when the throngs of people was also crowding him as he walked up and down the Judean countryside. Although Peter, the first pope could very well acted like this due to his temperament.

This just goes to show that the pope (or any one of the popes) isn't infallible afterall. Yes, much like the rest of us.

Happy New Year all...

Pope Francis Apologizes
Pope Francis reacted angrily when a woman grabbed his hand and pulled him toward her as he was meeting pilgrims in St Peter’s Square on New Year’s Eve.
