Sexual Abuse Allegations

In the last month, the media has been giving a lot of attention to allegations of sexual misconduct perpetuated by Hollywood moguls, executives and personalities as well as politicians.

And even though all these reports are too much to comprehend, it seems like we are only seeing the tip of the ice berg.

Naivete

Let us not act like we have not heard of these kinds of allegations in the past. The only difference now is that it seems as if the lock has been taken off a sealed box of secrets. Now everyone is talking about their "me too" stories of sexual assault.

Public Reaction

But what I don't understand are the negative reactions of many who are shaming the victims who have come out.

Personal Agenda

And I agree that there could be a few people who might be making up allegations for whatever personal gain, reason or agenda, but please, it is already common knowledge that sexual misconduct are not uncommon in showbusiness and in politics, perpetuated by people in power and not just in America but anywhere in the world.

Elephant in the Room

Countless children and other helpless people the world over have become unsuspecting, unwilling, reluctant and most of all, silent victims by movie and TV producers, directors, casting directors, talent scouts, priests, pastors, nuns, school officials, teachers, coaches, doctors, politicians, business owners, managers and others in similar positions of power.

Me Too

My rant for today... going back to the people who have been viciously attacking the people who are coming up with "me too" (a victim of sexual misconduct) and worse those who are blaming the victim and looking for all sorts of insenuations as to why they are coming out.

Also, to those who are taking the side of the alleged perpetuators or asking why are the victims only coming out now and not back when the alleged violations took place as if these things are uncommon and asking why they are probably the only ones alive who weren't assaulted.

Well, my response, be thankful they weren't victims and that is precisely the reason why they have no idea why real victims have kept quiet all this time.
